Beer Week in Philadelphia always brings out the cheese geeks, and Tuesday and Friday hold two special tastings that have yet to receive much press. Chef Rob Sidor at Di Bruno Bros. is quietly offering two of the most compelling events in the city, along with cheese curator Rich Morillo.

Tonight at 6 p.m., Di Bruno Bros. on Chestnut Street brings together my favorite pair: cheesemaker Sue Miller of Birchrun Hills Farm and brewer Jean Broillet IV of the just-opened Tired Hands Brewery in Ardmore, PA. Sue and Jean are friends and collaborators, and their energy and excitement around small-batch food production is catching. Brooks Miller of North Mountain Pastures joins with charcuterie. Below is a list of what Chef Rob has in store for each of the unique beers on offer. Tickets are only $10. To reserve call 215-665-1659.

Tonight at 6 p.m., Chef Rob Sidor welcomes brewer Vince Desrosiers from Iron Hill in Harrisburg. Once again, Chef demonstrates his love of unique beer and cheese pairings; the menu below reads like a list of characters from A Game of Thrones. Tickets are $10. To reserve, call 215-665-1659.     I had the privilege of attending the Local Cheese meets Local Beer event last summer at Birchrun Hills. What a wonderful event. Two of my favorite local producers are at it again.
