Cheesemonger Invitational Countdown

Just because I am holed up in the writing cave this month doesn’t mean that the cheese world is quiet. Last night while I was recipe-testing strata, I sat down and finally read the news for the first time in about six weeks. Well, the cheese news anyway. Here’s what’s happening in Dairyland:

The Cheesemonger Invitational is Nigh

Adam Balkovic (above) from Di Bruno Bros. is working hard to gain points before the showdown on June 23, 2012. Like him so that he can head to Long Island City with confidence, kids. If you need a ticket to CMI, the biggest cheesemonger event in the country, you can purchase them here.

Conundrum is in Stores

Jasper Hill Farm, home of Winnimere and Moses Sleeper, is testing out a new cheese, tentatively titled Conundrum. Cheesemonger Ezekial Ferguson describes his first impressions of it on the Culture Blog.

The Fancy Food Show is In Progress

The country’s biggest gourmet showcase is happening in Washington D.C. this week. I’m watching Cheese & Champagne for this year’s dairy update.

On the Horizon: The American Cheese Society Conference

The Cheese Oscars take place in Raleigh, North Carolina this August. More details here for dairy nerds and the general public. If you find the entrance fee is too spendy, consider volunteering.

Days to Book Deadline: 12
