David Sedaris Cheese Support

University of Pennsylvania Bookstore, 5-6 p.m.

What do you think: Does David Sedaris like stinky Stilton? The Di Bruno team will be there to share samples with the crowd and sign cheese books before Mr. S. slithers up to the mic for his 6 p.m. discussion.

Cheese, Beer and Books with Janet Fletcher and Tenaya Darlington

Di Bruno Bros. on Chestnut, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets $20

Special guest Janet Fletcher joins us with her new book on beer and cheese for a double-hitter. We’ll talk beer and cheese pairings all evening, with loads of samples – it’s part of Beer Week. Get your tix in advance!

After Hours: Cheese and Beer

Di Bruno Bros. on 9th Street, 7-9 p.m. Tickets $100

Don’t let the price tag scare you – you’ll get two signed books, The Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese, plus Janet Fletcher’s new opus, Cheese & Beer. We’ll both be there, along with mongers from Di Bruno Bros., to give you a special pairing experience in the old Italian Market store, my fave haunt.

First Friday Coffee (and Cheese) Revival

Local roasters take on one cheese apiece for a special pairing. Come taste – your mouth will experience revelation! Beer tastings and book signings are part of the mix.

Comcast Center’s Joe Ulrich is my favorite subterranean cheesemonger. We’ll team up to serve samples from the book and sign copies. Swing by for lunch and join us!

Emilio Mignucci of Di Bruno Bros. has a longstanding relationship with this family-run market close to the Jersey Shore in Monmouth County. Come gab with us and grab some grub for the beach. We’ll help you build a cheese hamper.

Judy Wicks Book Signing and Talk

Local foods champ Judy Wicks started The White Dog Café, and has become the de facto Alice Waters of Philadelphia. She’ll talk about her new memoir, Good Morning, Beautiful Business, and I’ll be there with the Di Bruno clan to serve up local cheese and beer. We’ll sling a few books, too, if you’re still looking for a signed copy.

International “Cheesemaking Rockstars” Dinner at Di Bruno Bros.

Have you ever wanted to meet James Montgomery, maker of Montgomery’s Cheddar? Or Giorgio Cravero, who ages some of the best Parm in Italy? This is your chance. They’re rolling through town as part of an international cheesemaker’s tour and stopping at Di Bruno Bros. for a 5-course cheese dinner.
